These 5 days Uganda primate safari is an exceptional adventure that takes you to Kibale National Park also known as the primate’s capital where you will have an opportunity to spend time with the chimpanzees and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park known for its ultimate gorilla experience where you will be able to spend time with the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Your journey will begin with a scenic drive from Entebbe or Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park, passing lush tea plantations and traditional villages. Stop for lunch in Fort Portal, then continue to your lodge near the forest. Check in, relax, and take in the cool, forested surroundings. Kibale is home to the highest concentration of chimpanzees in East Africa, making it a prime location for primate lovers. Enjoy dinner at the lodge as you prepare for your chimp trekking adventure the next morning.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your chimpanzee trek. Venture into the forest with expert guides to track and observe chimps as they play, feed, and communicate in their natural habitat. After lunch back at the lodge, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed conservation area known for its rich biodiversity. Enjoy a guided walk through the swamp, where you may spot monkeys, birds, and learn about local culture. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Depart Kibale after breakfast and travel south toward Bwindi, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The drive offers incredible views of Uganda’s countryside, crater lakes, and the Kigezi Highlands. Break for lunch along the way. Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi in the afternoon or early evening. Check in, relax, and prepare for one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife experiences—gorilla trekking—the next day. Enjoy dinner and overnight in the misty forest surroundings.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

Begin your day with an early breakfast and head to the park offices for a gorilla trekking briefing. Trek through thick rainforest led by experienced rangers to locate a habituated gorilla family. Once found, spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants up close. Watch them feed, groom, and interact in their natural environment. Return to the lodge for lunch and a restful afternoon. Optional community visits or forest walks can be arranged depending on your energy level. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Departure to Entebbe / Kampala.

After breakfast,you will check out and begin the return journey to Entebbe or Kampala. Enjoy Uganda’s scenic beauty one last time as you travel through hills and farmlands. Stop for lunch en route and visit the Uganda Equator for photos and souvenirs. You’ll arrive in the late afternoon or early evening, with drop-off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport, marking the end of an unforgettable primate trekking adventure.
