7 Day Eastern And Northern Uganda Safari

This 7-day safari highlights Eastern and Northeastern Uganda, combining adventure at the Source of the Nile, scenic hikes at Sipi Falls, authentic cultural experiences in Karamoja, and thrilling wildlife encounters in Kidepo Valley National Park, one of Africa’s last untouched wildernesses

Day 1: Pickup at the airport and transfer to Entebbe/ Kampala

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport where our drive guide will meet and transfer you to your hotel for relaxation and overnight in Entebbe or Kampala.

Day 2: Transfer to Jinja

After breakfast, you will drive east wards approximately 3hrs drive through Mabira Forest, one of Uganda’s largest rainforest, and past sugarcane plantations. Arrive in Jinja, the “Adventure Capital of East Africa.” Visit the Source of the Nile where the river begins its journey north. Take a short boat ride and enjoy views of Lake Victoria. In the afternoon, you may choose from optional activities such as white-water rafting, quad biking, Relax at your lodge along the Nile River. Overnight in Jinja.

Day 3: Transfer to Sipi Falls

Depart Jinja after breakfast and head to Kapchorwa district, located on the slopes of Mount Elgon which is 4-5hours drive. On arrival, check into your lodge overlooking the Karamoja plains. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a guided hike to the three waterfalls of Sipi, walking through villages, caves, and coffee farms where you will Learn about the local Arabica coffee-growing traditions. The hike offers panoramic views of Mount Elgon and the plains stretching into Kenya. Then return back to the lodge for dinner relaxation and overnight at Sipi Falls.

Day 4: Transfer from Sipi Falls to Moroto (4–5 hrs drive)

After breakfast, continue your journey northwards into the Karamoja region which is 4-5hours drive, one of Uganda’s most culturally rich areas. Arrive in Moroto, the capital of Karamoja that is nestled at the base of Mount Moroto. In the afternoon, visit a Karamojong Manyatta (traditional homestead) where you’ll learn about their unique pastoral lifestyle, cattle culture, dances, and crafts. This immersive experience will give you a glimpse of their resilience and traditions then return to the lodge for Dinner and overnight in Moroto.

Day 5: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Enjoy breakfast, then set off through rugged savannah landscapes and rolling hills to Kidepo Valley National Park approximates 6hours, one of Africa’s most remote and pristine wildernesses you will arrive in the afternoon, check into your lodge, and head out for an evening game drive in the Narus Valley, an area known for large herds of buffalo, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and prides of lions often lounging on rock outcrops after Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Full Day in Kidepo Valley National Park

After breakfast you will Start with an early morning game drive across Narus Valley, the park’s prime wildlife viewing area. Look out for cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, ostriches, and possibly leopards. After lunch, drive to the Kidepo Valley to visit the Kanangorok Hot Springs, passing through open plains dotted with ostriches and antelope herds. In the evening, enjoy a cultural experience with the IK people on Mount Morungole Return to your lodge for overnight.

Day 7:Transfer from Kidepo to Entebbe/Kampala (Domestic Flight Option Available at an extra charge)

After an early breakfast and a short game drive, begin your return journey. By road, it takes 10–11 hours back to Kampala/Entebbe with stopovers for meals and photos along the way. Alternatively, opt for a scheduled domestic flight from Kidepo to Entebbe for a quicker transfer. Arrive in time for your evening international flight
